Thoughts and Feedback
This re-roofing/roof repair for a heritage-style cottage in Bibury, Gloucestershire, involved traditional slating techniques and materials, with modern roofing practices and standards.
Reclaimed stone slates were used on the pitched elevations to match the surrounding areas and keep within the conservation guidelines. This involves squaring any rough, uneven edges of the stone slate tile and re-measuring as these are installed using diminishing courses.
We also used a traditional lime mortar for the ridges tiles on both the main ridge line and dormer detail. Several conservation rooflights were installed to allow the internal areas to gain maximum daylight.
